Back in the late-2000's, we noticed a glaring shortage of good quality student accommodation in South Africa. On investigation, we found that what was available was a world away from what would suit the needs of a socially connected, trend conscious and design savvy new generation of student. Seldom was there anything that combined style with affordability, or convenience with security.
With this in mind, we decided to create spaces for students that would be fresh and contemporary, with clean colours and an urban edge. We wanted these spaces to be safe and orderly, to allow students the scope to make the most of their studies as well as meet and socialise with other like minds.
And so it was that Nest pioneered the concept of boutique student living, starting in Cape Town in 2011. The response in our first year has been overwhelmingly successful, with a 92% occupancy rate and a mix of students hailing not just from South Africa but from seventeen different countries across all six continents.
We are delighted to report that we commenced 2012 with occupancy levels at 100%, along with a waiting list of hopefuls. Enquires are already being made for 2013.
